Some helpful tips for this fall season (Halloween!)

  • Fill up before trick-or-treating or trunk-or-treating!

Give your kiddo a healthy hearty snack or dinner before you head out of the house. Everyone will be less likely to snack along the way; this allows an adult to inspect treats before eating once all are back home.

  • Once home, choose wisely!

Separate chewy sticky and sour candies from melting chocolate candies.

Chocolate candies are best as they are cleaned off the teeth better and faster than others.

  • Enjoy!

For 2-3 days eat the candy and then get rid of it.

  • Don’t stress !

A few days of eating a few more sweets should not cause long term damage. It is your day to day habits that matter most.

  • Brush and floss!

Brush and floss close to the time of exposure to sugary foods. Usually best with parent help.
